I personally reccomend the enttec open or pro, cheap and get the job done. www.enttec.com although don't buy from there website if you want to pay customs charges,
your better off finding a local seller or ebay!

The open usb requires your pc to generate the dmx timings, Slow computer = slow timings. Plus is opto isolated so protects your computer from damage if there is a fault on the dmx line.
The pro version generates the timings it self, and there fore not affected by computer lag.

You can make an opto isolator quite cheaply and quickly, then duplicate the output section and make a cheap dmx splitter.

I have been using the Enttec Pro and so far so good. No problems here.

Has anyone ever had the Enttec pro fail on them?

I still have my dmx controller as a back up, but to be honest, I really don't want to fall back on it. It is too much of a pain to program. Just trying to remember what channel every light has is one thing and what effect each channel produces at different settings is another. Freestyler has made life much easier. I was considering buying a back up Enttec pro and getting rid of the controller.
