HI all,
I'm new to this and bought a USB to DMX cable that looks just like the Chauvet ShowXpress 100 one.
Unfortunately it did not come with a box so I can't identify the manufacturer or have instructions, and my Windows 7 cannot find a driver for it.
I was wondering if these things are usually PnP and would it work with any DMX software? So far I haven't found any that can detect it as an interface.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Generic USB to DMX cable (Chauvet ShowXpress100)
Many of them have an FTDI based chipset (or some other USB-serial chipset), a driver then emulates a software COM port, and then in FreeStyler you can choose the proper brand and model of your device, and its software emulated COM port.
In this case you have 2 problems:
1. What driver do you need to download?
2. What brand/model do you need to selected.
Unfortunately without any more info you just gave, you can only guess...
Do you have a link to the device you bought?
