Fortunately, I work with Imagen and could thus clearly reproduce the bug.


Everything is very stable with Windows 10/ 1703. an update to Windows 10/1803 causes the S2L v2.001 module to accept no audio input and aborts with an error message saying "access denied".
Then the stable version v 1.01.11 tries an error message
the specified device handle is invalid waveInReset
the specified device is invalid waveInClose

Use Denon mcx 8000 with current ASIO drivers

I do not know exactly if it is the plugin but something seems to miss it !?

Now times will reinstall the normal chipset and audio drivers let's see what happens.
Is just funny that it was already the second time reproducible.
And everything else works as usual. , ,

Windows 10 version 1803, is working perfectly well here, and at other computers.
So it must be something specific on your system as to why you get 'Access denied'. Lets try to find that out.

My guess is that any other audio recording application (other than S2L) will have exactly the same problem. Please try another application to confirm that. That is usefull information to have and to get to a solution.
You can try the free Audacity audio editing application for that. (https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ [Select 'Windows WASAPI' in Audacity]).

Furthermore, S2L is not using ASIO. So updating your ASIO drivers would most probably be no solution to your situation. You should update WDM drivers if an update is available. I Prefer that you do that after the above test with Audacity.

.... and: You should check if your playout software uses your rendering audio device in exclusive mode. If so, than that might be causing the access denied. Which is expected behaviour in that case.

After I found it very funny that it worked with the 1703 100 pro and after the update to 1803 no longer I thought I must be something with the rights management ...

Have Freestyler with plugins installed on my everyday notebook (this one) also installed 1803 update has worked right away.

Drivers installed for my Dj Console and lo and behold ... suddenly not anymore ... The operation of my console without any problems possible stop only via S2L. Recording via Virtual DJ is also possible other tools in turn not ...

So driver uninstalled and installed again ... Run a problem search made felt 100 restarts ...
Then I came up with the idea to install the drivers as ADMIN .... WOW there was finally something. , , it finally worked.

The same procedure now done on the Dj notebook and here again everything is fine.

Goed to it and fumbled and tested for a long time and now I have a 100% solution and and cause why since 1803 (April update)
On many systems recording is no longer possible.

Goes into System Setting - Privacy - Microphone and allows access to the microphone.
Very confusing because you want to record from another source but that's the way it works. ,
