Need some help

Running the latest version of FS with a Entec DMX Pro and my laptop which has Vista. Lights are AMDJ P64 LED Pro, Colorstrip and Minspots. Been through all the tutorials and even watched some of the youtube video's that people have posted. Still don't get it.
Right now I'm just trying to program the lights to the intro to Hash Pipe by Weezer. Put the P64 and Colorstrip on green then a flash of blue for the accent note on the AND of 4 in the second and 4th measures. Tried just programming some steps and a cue, tried using WinAmp time stamps - nothing is working right.
Could someone be kind enough to walk me through this. Figure once I get this the rest will click.
