I have a problem, when I open freestyler it gives me a error message. It says universe 0 interface: open failed. I'm trying to set a light bar Chauvet ColorBar SMD 3ch. But I don't have any control of the light at all. I'm using a Enttec opendmx usb.

Basic questions:
The opendmx is plugged into a USB slot on your computer?
Windows recognized the controller?
Freestyler is configured to use the Enttec Opendmx controller?
Any possibility of testing the controller on another machine to make sure it is working?

I have tried on 2 different computer's with the same results. I also hooked 2 lights together with a daisy chain and a separate controller for each still comes up with that message.

are you sure you have the drivers installed for Enttec?

When I install the drivers it tells me the drivers on my computer are newer than the ones I'm trying to install so it doesn't install them.

I'll try them when I get to work but that looks like the same file that I already downloaded.

I installed that file instead and I didn't get the message about the drivers being newer on my computer. I still have a problem when I open Freestyler it gives me this message Universe 1 interface: open failed.
