LedTrix with RGBW bars

I do understand that at the moment the plugin uses only R,G and B.
The question is: is it possible to implement the additional fourth (white) channel for RGBW devices?
The channel would only be used when for example the animated gif had "pure" white (FFFFFF) pixel colour and then, instead of mixing R,G and B the command would be sent to the fourth (white) channel.
Is it something that could be done in some future release of the plugin?
Now, I waste 60 white leds of each bar because it's RGBW, not RGB and I have no way of lighting white sections up via LedTrix.
