Using Freestyler like a Mixer

Hi,

I'm coming not close to that software. My goal is, to control a couple of devices like I do it right now with my old analog mixer.

I only whant to have groups for eg:

Group1: Device1 DMX CH 1 Value 33; Device2 DMX CH 17 Value 211; Device3 DMX CH 33 Value 8
Group2: Device1 DMX CH 1 Value 143; Device2 DMX CH 17 Value 12; Device3 DMX CH 33 Value 222
and so on...

That groups shoud be set on my keybord's F-Keys, how that works is clear for me.

So I do not realy need any fixtures, I only what control my devices by DMX Adress.

Is that working with freestyler, and if yes, how?

Regards Michael

Not sure what you are asking, .

Groups= collection of fixtures that you want to be able to access as 1
Scene= a static look created with your fixtures
Sequence= Multiple scenes strung together

What is it you want help with?

I simply whant to define my DMX Devices control by the Adress values, like you move a level at e mixer. In my way, I whant to adress all devices to a scene and store that to a Group, configer a second scene and store it to Group 2 etc. the example above shoud clearify that, I know it is hard to explain. I Use my eutolite DMX-Mixer like that. Does that help?

A mixer like that:

Can freestyler do that equal? I did not find out.

You can plug in a USB midi controller if you want to have physical sliders.

You can also set up and select your own shortcut keys in the freestyler menu options for things like selecting a group. Maybe you could try following some tutorials and you will see how easy it can be to choose lights and move them, change shape, etc.

Its clear how to define Groups, but how can I select the Chanels without using a Fixture?

Only one example I want to control:

Kanal Wert Funktion
Blackout, Automatikbetrieb und Musiksteuerung
1
000-009 Blackout
010-031 Automatikbetrieb Spots und Derbys
032-065 Automatikbetrieb Laser

096-127 Automatikbetrieb Spots, Derbys, Laser und Strobe-LEDs
128-159 Musiksteuerung Spots und Derbys
160-191 Musiksteuerung Laser
192-223 Musiksteuerung Strobe-LEDs
224-255 Musiksteuerung Spots, Derbys, Laser und Strobe-LEDs
Automatikbetrieb Spots und Derbys,
wenn Kanal 1 auf einen Wert zwischen 010 und 031 eingestellt ist
2
000-009 AP01 Showprogramm 1
010-019 AP02 Showprogramm 2
020-029 AP03 Showprogramm 3
030-039 AP04 Showprogramm 4
040-049 AP05 Showprogramm 5
050-059 AP06 Showprogramm 6
060-069 AP07 Showprogramm 7
070-079 AP08 Showprogramm 8

With freestyler they can be a sequence each, which can be launched from a cue window, and assigned a shortcut key of your choice.

Let's try it to explain it by that way:

Eurolite KLS LASER

Channel Value Function

1 000-255 Helligkeit Rot 0-100 %
2 000-255 Helligkeit Grün 0-100 %
3 000-255 Helligkeit Blau 0-100 %
4 000-191 Masterdimmer 0-100 %
4 192-200 Musikgesteuerter Strobe-Effekt
4 201-249 Strobe-Effekt langsam → schnell (30 Hz)
4 250-255 Alle Farben an
5 000-004 Keine Rotation
5 005-127 Vorwärtsrotation langsam → schnell
5 128-133 Keine Rotation
5 134-255 Rückwärtsrotation langsam → schnell

So for eg my F-Key's schoud act like that:

F1 CH 1, Value 124; CH2, Value 032; CH3, Value 223; CH4 Value, 201; CH5, Value 134
F2 CH 1, Value 022; CH2, Value 124; CH3, Value 055; CH4 Value, 201; CH5, Value 134
F3 CH 1, Value 224; CH2, Value 032; CH3, Value 198; CH4 Value, 134;
F4 CH 1, Value 124; CH2, Value 078; CH3, Value 132; CH4 Value, 001; CH5, Value 005
.
.
.

So I did on my DMX Mixer, I do not need any Macros, I Only whant to have a devinated position/value when I push a F-Key.

I'd be quite pleased if anyone could support me.

regards Michael

You make a new scene using, buttons, macros, sliders on right of screen, or even a midi input. That saved scene can then be assigned to any key, F-key or whatever you like.
