Gigbar Profile Issues

HI, I have an issue with programming the Chauvet Gigbar. I am very new to Freestyler(less than a week) but have some basic DMX knowledge. I haven't found a Fixture profile for the Gigbar so I made one. The gigbar has 6 different lights in one unit. I made the profile as suggested in the tutorial, setting address for each light. Instead of doing 1 20channel light, each light is broken down to how many channels it has. Just to clarify that I did this right when setting up Par1 for example, I put that it has only 4 channels, not 20. Par2 I uses the same profile as Par1, but the starting address is 5-8. For the Derby I put 3 channels, but starting address is 6 etc..

Par1 ch1-4
Par2 ch5-8
Derby1 ch6-9
Derby2 ch10-12
Laser ch13-17
Strobe ch18-20

In Freestyler, Par 1 and 2 are duplicate profile with the exception that Par1 is ch 1-4 and Par 2 is ch 5-8. Here's my issue:

Turning on Par1 to any color and sliding the intensity slider up and down makes the light gets brighter and dimmer, no issue there. When I turn on Par2 and turn on any color, moving the slider from o-52% cause the light to get brighter. AT 53% the light starts strobing, until I get to 94% then it turns back to solid color.

Any ideas..Thanks!!

PS I tried to attach the Fixture Profile, but kept getting an error message "Invalid File Extension"

Why do par2 and the Derby overlap?
Also, are the two derbys different? Since you have them allocated a different amount of channels each.

You need to choose file - export in the fixture creator to get the right file type to upload here.

Hi there,

I'm new to Freestyler and I'm trying to program the Chauvet Gigbar as well. I can control Par1 and Par2 but I'm not sure how to program the Kinta (Derby). I was wondering if you can upload the Derby1 profile here. Attached copy of Par1 Profile, as you mentioned above, I use exactly the same profile for Par2. Then, in Freestyler assign channel 1-4 to Par1 and channel 5-8 to Par2. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

JP

I created a profile for the derby (Kinta) and looks ok. I need to do some testing.

Hej

When you want to upload fixture files then please export them as pff files and upload them.

The fxt files don't contain al images and that is why you can't upload fxt files.

So please upload once again and in pff. :o)

My bad! Attached all fixtures profiles, in pff format (6 in total). I added all fixtures following the procedure mentioned above (see pic... Thanks DJBrent!) and all lights are working now.

A stupid question from my side why do 2 fixture files for the fixture.

If I look in the zip then you have Kinta 1 and Kinta 2 and they are exactly the same.
You only need one or am I wrong.

You right! You only need one Par and one kinta.

Well I see what you are trying to do and I think if I was to do this then I would name it something like

Gigbar_1_of_6, Gigbar_2_of_6 ......
And note in the text box that it is a 1 of 6 fixtures.

Then when you or other want to add the fixtures then they don't need to look into the data sheet to get the single fixtures on the right spot / pod.

But it is a bit tricky as you can configure the pod individually :)

I have renamed you fixture and added them to the complete fixture library.
The GigBAR_1_of_6 style

They will be in the next release of library.
