I have a basic 27ch RGB DMX controller, would be much appreciated if someone knows this has been done already, they could point me in the right direction. This is the controller - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017GU ... detailpage

Surely the fixture setup will depend on what you want to connect to it?

I mean you could add 27 seperate single channel par fixtures if you were going to add all seperate lights to its output.
Or 9 seperate 3 channel RGB fixtures if you were connecting red green and blue lights alternately.

It will be controlling 9 3ch RGB strips

Just add 9x generic RGB 3 channel fixtures then.. It will be much easier to program chases and patterns that way, as the fx generator can be used across the lot, plus you can group select the 9 and do 'all red' etc, very easily.

Otherwise a 27 channel all-in-one fixture with 9 sliders of each colour would be really awkward as the colour controls would only work for the first set of 3, and the rest would have to be done with the little sliders in the top right. It would not be able to group select colours, or use FX generator.
