Hello !
I'm trying to make my LED Strip WS2811 RGB Magic Dream Color 5050 work with freestyler and my DMX controller LT-DMX-1809.
Have you ever tryied to create such ficture with Fixture creator ?
The strip doesn't react at all.
There should be a channel for each RGB color then channels for modes...
I guess this is more complicated.

You'll need to make sure you've got everything setup correctly, fixture is correct, DMX address and that the controller works with your LED strip correctly.

How do i start to design an led strip layout, using the WS2811 on the FreeStyle "Virtual Interface" only, or is this not possible. many thanks.

why do you want to use the virtual interface? The virtual interface is for demo when you don't have real hardware, i.e DMX interface.
Without an interface, you cant output any dmx.

To answer your question, yes you can use ws2811 with freestyler.
you need a dmx to spi decoder (eBay).

then add a simple RGB fixture for each pixel on your led strip.

Freestyler only has 2 universes so is not great for pixel control, a single universe can control 170 pixels.

I built a custom Artnet to spi controller that allowed me to mirror pixels, group them or run pre-designed strobe, shimmer, color fx to control over 1000 pixels on 1 universe.
