No worries, it's just that links to other forums are usually frowned upon...

Just thought I'd put a comment in on this thread; I was sent this link by a VDJ user as proof that this is something people wanted and thought I could provide some input. I recognise a few of the names in this thread anyway!

I've created a VirtualDJ plugin which is in it's final stages of testing. It passes the VDJ beatgrid markers (the CBG grid) of the active deck to FreeStyler as Sound2Light trigger events.

It has a few other useful features too such as auto triggering of FS commands based on cue points and so on. All being well the plugin should be available to licensed users in the very near future.

Suggestions and requests are always welcome.

S2L developer checking in. :)
So, that is good news for the VDJ users. After all it looks like VDJ has a good usable interface to read beat moments from.
Is that an API, or how does that work? For wider use, could I implement such a feature in S2L too?
Or does that seem superfluous to you as you've written such an app? :)

Yup, all implemented in a native VDJ plugin using their API.

You can also send this information over HID and/or MIDI too but that is obviously less practical for most users.
