Recalling active sequences in cues

Hi,

I have several transparent sequences loaded into a cue. A colour chase, a shutter chase etc I have multi select enabled so I can have all of sequence on at once to build the look I am after. I have then saved the cue and gone on to make several more.
The problem is when I use the fast cue selector to recall the cues. The sequences that were active when I saved the cue are not stored? If I switch a few sequences on and then change cues. The sequence name disappear from the slots but the chases continue to run.
its as if the cues are overlayed on each other. The only way to switch a seq off is to reload the cue and then switch the seq off.
I am a light jockey user so I am use to the sequences just terminating and the new ones starting when switching between cues. It also remembers which seq were active in each cue.
I am I going about this the wrong way?

Thanks in advance

Hi tavsa,

I guess you're trying to use FS to create a flexible light show, on-the-fly.
Then switching cues is probably not the best way to do this. Have you tried the submasters?

I did it like this:
Create a cue with all kind of pan/tilt sequences for a certain group of fixtures, e.g. scans. Make sure all other channels are OFF, except maybe the speed channel for pan/tilt.
Create another cue with pan/tilt sequences for another group of fixtures, e.g. moving heads.
Make more cues with pan/tilt sequences if you have more groups.
Then make a cue with some nice color chases for all your fixtures.
Make a cue with shutter chases, for a single group, multiple groups or all fixtures.
Load the cues in submaster. By double clicking a sequences in different submasters, you can make lots of combinations on-the-fly.
Also nice is to load a certain pan/tilt cue twice in a submaster. If this cue contains e.g. a simple sequence with a pan sweep (tilt OFF) and another one with a tilt sweep (pan OFF), you combine them (in 2 seperate submasters) resulting in all kind of shapes by changing the individual sequence speed.

This is just how I think FS can be used the best as a LJ...

Great post I hope I can do it. So I can make a cue with one light and add color changes to the submaster but if I pan all lights i need to make a cue that covers all lights with only color then I can stack them in the submaster and the more I stack like gobo changes and spining gobos cues the more thing will happen to my lights? So id I had them strobing in red all I have to do is remove the strobe cue from the submaster and the lights will keep doing the same thing but no srtobe right? Now if I stacked up two color on top of each other is only the first color going to show like a layer then if I delete the it will go to the next color in the list. I hope I am getting this! Please let me know if I am on the right track. thanks Mike http://www.directsound.com
