Hi, I keep getting the open fail when trying to open freestyler x2, help please
im using windows 7 and have installed the latest drivers
this is what I'm doing
1) plug in dmx lead into enttec open
2) plug usb end into laptop
3) open freestyler on laptop

about 3/4 of the way through opening a error comes up open failed
in device manager ports it says USB Serial Port (com 4)
when I go into interface setup in fs / enttec open dmx/FT232R USB UART

All this is very new to me and I'm sure it must be me that is doing something wrong, could anyone please advise me on how to get this work, Thanks.

problem fixed, universe 2 was set the same as universe 1, set universe 2 to virtual and it worked fine.

Exactly, the 2nd universe is not set with anything by default install and needs to be assigned. If you don't have a physical second enttec unit, then virtual is the way to set it.

I have two different adapters (using ftdi chips) Whichever adapter I set as universe 1 will work, but universe 2 will always "open failed!"..... any ideas?

post this in the bug section and link back to this thread for reference for the author to review your issue.
