Interface for 3d easy view

I've got a velleman 116 and works fine with Freestyler. I can't seem to use the 3d easyview however. When it starts up, its says 'no interface connected' even though it IS connected and working with freestyler. 3d easy view stays in 'demo mode'.
DO I need an interface that works with the sunlite software before I can 'see' the fixtures in 3d easy view? I have 2 martin roboscans 218's and the fixture files for them, my fixtures work perfectly etc...
can't seem to get a strait answer on how to make easyview work? paste *.dll files ?
anyone can help?
