Hello,

What you think about bring Freestyler to Lasercontrol??

The Idea:

Interface:
MiniLumax(http://www.Lumax.de) ILDA 12Bit DAC with full 512 DMX IN/OUT!!

Software:
HE-Laserscan(http://www.HE-laserscan.de)

Combinate the Freestyler to control a Laserbank or Lasermovinghead with DMX. Start preprogramed Animations in HE-Laserscan Select Effects of the laserbank,etc...

What do you mean??

Hey, thats a really great Idea.
I use FS and a friend use HE-laserscan.
But FS should be Bug-Free before implement new things...imho...

A short question about laser, is it a must to use a ILDA interface or can a laser draw figures controlled by DMX ?

DJ Support
i think they can but there limited

Prutser
So in order to work the laser correct, you always need a good ILDA interface?
I'm working with a Shogun 3D+RGB laser (Showtec).

DJ Support
i think its the fact that ILDa can be more precise where as dmx has 255 points per channel if that makes any sense i havent a clue what ILDa is but im sure its because its programmed in a more flexible way then DMX and more freedom where as dmx like i just said is restricted

DMX is used in calling up preprogrammed frames/pictures in a laser, and then manipulate it.
Per example:
ch1: frame1/frame2
ch2: X placement of frame
ch3: Y placement of frame
ch4: zoom

(very very simplified ;-) )

ILDA is used to program your own frames/pictures to the laser. It is used on the fly, so shows are programmed offline.
You can draw your own frames/picture, using the software.

(again, very very simplified)

ILDA is not necessary, but you can make your own show instead of being limited to what dmx offers. You can program everything that an laser is able to do.

What the first post is suggesting, is supporting another DMX dongle out. :-)
You should mail the author about it. :-)
