Is there a way to define BPM in Freestylerdmx/Sound2light?

Dear Freestylers,

I've got a little problem, I've got a song without a clear beat and I see that Sound2light is making a little bit a mess of the lightshow.

Is there a way so I can define the BPM of a song so this is always in sync?

:?: :fs: :D

You could use the 'tap' function to enter bpm by tapping it in manually.

You could use a software player for the music capable of sending midi information. I use VDJ with sbdj plugin, but if you read the freestyler wiki can be done with ableton and others.

Or you could remix the song! Lol

Thanks for your reply!

I am using Reaper on the same PC where I use Freestylerdmx and Sound2Light. Is there a way to send the BPM via midi (from Reaper) to FS or S2L?

Haha remix the song is not really an option... LoL

Could reaper be configured with a beat that doesn't get played through main out? Like a looped click or drum beat synced to music that gets sent to freestyler.

Or you could check this out viewtopic.php?f=38&t=5115.

Hi Spud,

Thanks again for your response :)

I created a basic kick loop for certain BPMs and now it works and goes in sync. The only frustration I have now is how to trigger the internal audio with sound 2 light. I created a new topic for that.

Can you route that in reaper to laptops 'line out' instead of pa soundcard.
