Experiences with Win 8.1 and Touchscreen

Post by kwelch007 »

***I know I'm double posting this, but I think my previous post was in the wrong thread. Sorry***

Hi all,

It's that time...I need to replace my laptop that I use for FS shows. I'm looking specifically at the HP Envy 15.6" x360 (a convertable laptop/tablet.) I have a couple questions that maybe some of you have already experienced.

A) Has anybody used FS with Windows 8.1? If so, any issues?

B) Has anybody used the "Touchscreen" mode with a similar tablet or laptop in a similar production environment, and what did you like and/or dislike about it?

Thanks!
Kendell

Cool. Now question #2:

I have Touchscreen 2 enabled. Works fine. But, I want to customize the interface. I get how to add buttons and such, but want to start completely from scratch. When I choose Options->Remove All Controls, sure, it removes all of the default buttons, which I want. But, there are what I would call "container panels" that don't go away. I don't particularly want to use the default layout. Is there a way to completely remove those panels and start completely from scratch? I'll still want to use "panels" to lay out my buttons/faders or whatever, but I'd like to create my own.

Thanks!

Never mind. It's actually a back-ground. It's not panels in the sense that I (a software developer) thinks of them. Thanks!
