Many question trying to get to grips with freestyler

I'm struggling with freestyler, I've got my par cans & some effect lights into it but I'm not getting any real use from it.
By the way Magic 3D Easy View just crashes everytime I try to open it so I can't use it.

Can Freestyler:-

1. Assign hot keys so that one set of 4 par cans can all be green & the other set of 4 par cans can all be blue & likewise for different colors? If so can you point me to where I should start?

2. Why do I get better chase sequences from the par cans if they run their own light to show, but when plugged into Freestyler & using sound to light the sequences, no sequences, not very fast flashing. I'm using a monitor out line on my PA into my mic on the laptop & freestyler is displaying the graphic of music input, I've twiddled with all settings I can find but no difference? Is there a way to put my par cans into their own sound to light mode via freestyler?

Hot key controls are set up under setup > freestyler setup > keyboard shortcuts. Not sure why you would do it this way, but pars need info like intensity, so you may want to look at how sequences work for your pars.

DMX is "slow" persay due to the data rate it is sent at vs the light firmware being able to handle the hardware in near real time. What dmx interface are you using?

Sound mode is best when used as a sequence... I've been thinking about doing a few video tutorials for newbs.....TRUST ME, the software works and works well when you understand it.

I'm not plugging anything here, but check out my lighting startup on a recent gig, its ALL freestyler!!! Also note, it is using sound activated mode for the pars.

Hopefully you have patience to learn it, you won't regret it!!

Yes please, there are a lack of decent tutorials on freestyler.
