Sound To Light Latency

Is there a way to improve the latency in the sound engine of FS?
Using the on board microphone and its about a second late based on the vu spike I see and the lights reaction to it.
Other than that, I LOVE this program and continue to support it and recommend it to others.
It sure has come a long way in the last year for sure.
