DMX 400 - Colour problems

Hi guys,

I'm new to software based DMX Controlling and just trying to "get into it".

Right now I'm trying to create a running light using the DMX 400 mode.

I did all steps according to the following instruction video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gASOfz3zYbY (using 4 LED Par cans instead of 12)

My problem is: Nevertheless I did every single step, described in the video above, my results are totally different. The program seems to be "stuck" in the 10 vivid color mode. That means the colours are totally random, so that the final running light looks confusingly chaotic. If I'm using the "all same color mode", the PARs are just changing their colours at the same time (as it is supposed to be?). I played around with all buttons and faders, but I found no way to make the shifting of the different programs visible.

I would be very thankful, if somebody could tell me, how I manage to control the colours in DMX 400 mode.

Thanks.

ps: hope that's the correct place for my post

Hi Xychor, and welcome to FreeStyler and these forums! Yes, this is the correct place.

There are some instructions on the wiki at: http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/playback:dmx400
You change programs by clicking on the program button and you'll see the number change (0-9).

I still haven't really worked out DMX400. I don't use it much, actually. In my very limited experience, DMX400 is too random (limited to the built-in chases) and I'd rather program my own sequences that I know I can control. It's nice for some quick fun 'show-off' effects though.

Let us know how you go!
