Programming with Longer scenetime?

Hi,
Im trying to program a lightshow with a couple of LED-bars where the color is gonna change between 6 different colors. I want the colors to fade very very slow so you won't even reqognize that the color is changing.
The problem is that when i change make a sequence and make 6 steps and change the scene/fadetime to maximum it's not slow enough. I want it to take something like 1-2 hours for step 1 to fade to step 6.
Anybody have any suggestions how to make this possibly?
