What am I missing? Sequences with no intensity

Hi folks,
I'm trying to learn how to program sequences properly, and it's going OK, but I have a problem...

I seem to have to manually increase the intensity (to full) of my lights before the sequences show.
I know that sequences only change the values of the properties that are set to Snap or Fade (not Off), but some of my sequences DO have Fade for intensity, and this doesn't seem to work.

I'd like to be able to turn my lights on (for the first time) by simply running my first sequences in the submasters, but although FS shows the colours changing, it shows 0% on the fixture icons and no light in EasyView.

If I manually drag up the intensity in the Lamp window, I see the lights, but also the blue triangle and clearing the override returns the light to 0%.
Sometimes it shows 100% in the lamp window, but 0% on the fixture icons. Dragging the 100% down and back up restores the light and makes them both the same.

I have a scene ("startup") that has full intensity for all the lights, but running this just sets the colours and resets the intensity to 0%. I tried it configured to "Fade" once and then "Snap", with no success. It's just one step with colours and intensity at 100%, but it makes the intensity 0%!
Why?
(I do have the submaster intensity up.)

What is the best way to do this (setup sequences) so I can use them in the submasters and not have to set anything manually?

EDIT: OK, this is annoying, but it's working now. I made another sequence with one step, with colour and full intensity, put that first in the submaster and it's working. I'm sure I had it like that before but maybe not.
I did have one submaster with sequences that only changed colours, none had intensity.
I'll leave this here in case I have to come back to it, and I'd still like an answer to the "what is the best way" question if you have any input. Thanks! :)

Another option you have is to set the start up values of the fixtures with the dimmer or intensity channels at full. You can do this by setting the intensity to a desired level then you can right click on that particular channel on the sliders and click on save as startup.
You can also set the DMX value using the fixture creator.
Hope that helps

Startup freestyler and before running anything set your intensity to full. Run your first sequence. If you have no light then your sequences are setting intensity to zero. If they work as expected then you have the opposite. Edit your sequences so that the first scene in every sequence sets the intensity to full. If you dont set it any where its not going to happen.

Now if you try all that and your sequences only on gor the first step but then go off. Your likely to have programed in static mode and not set your intensity. Youl have to go through every step in each sequence and set the intensity.

Thanks guys. I'd never heard of the startup options, so I'll look at that.
I think I now have it so that the first step in the first sequence in my submaster list has full intensity, but if I did it per sequence, then it doesn't matter what order they're in.
Good tips!
