Hey folks,

I have the challange, that I have to start my Freestyler 3.5.2 as Admin to get access to my DMX510 Interface by Monacor.

Do you guys have any idea why I cant access the interface with regular priviliges?

I searched the web for this a lot. I found something called runaspc that allows me to start an application with admin priviliges by and certificate. This works in Windows XP, but not in Windows 7 (Enterprise).
I found a lot of other tools but I was not able to get real admin access. With regular privileges Freestyle doesnt find any interface. With Runaspc I am not getting the Demo Mode dialog anymore but my light are still not reacting. Only by rightclicking and run as admin (UAC) I am able to control my lights and get access to the interface.

You understand why I dont want to use an admin account. Here are a lot of different people working with Freestyler so an admin account is not really an option. :-/

So, do you guys have any ideas?

Its probably because its trying to access a system driver to work, therefore, unless your an admin, or have that privilege, it is denied. Have you tried to use a shortcut and in compatibility use the option "run as administrator" there? I don't use a regular accounts, so I can't offer much more.

Yes. The only way to get the interface to work in by rightclicking and choose "run as admin". No other way is working in Windows 7 and fs 3.5.2.
So I as forced to restore my Windows xp and FS Version 3.4.8.
This combination is working with a tool called runaspc.
