Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it seems the best spot for it...

I'd like to ask the big questions about lighting - what do you do and how do you set up FreeStyler to achieve that... and why is that the best choice?

I've read quite a bit about creating sequences and putting cue lists on submasters, override buttons, etc. but it's mostly from a technical point of view for people who already know what they want to do.
I'm new to lighting and would LOVE to hear some people share what their process is for both setting up shows and controlling them live.

So, walk me through your steps (big picture is fine for now if you don't me asking for detail later).
- What sort of sequences do you make?
-- and what for?
- How do you set up your controllers and why?
-- so what buttons/faders are you pushing/sliding during a show - and what for?

This sort of thing would be great - and I'd be happy to create a wiki page to collate some of these ideas.

To set the scene a little more... I'm setting up lighting for our church.
We only have fixed RGB LED lights at the moment, but will likely upgrade to more fixtures in the future.
We want to add some visual interest to match the mood/feel of the service at the time - upbeat songs, slow songs, preaching (speaking).

So what sorts of things would you recommend we set up (this is a second question, I guess)?

But first somethings are just how they are

i use FS / linghting for Bands, Disco, lets say everything.
i learned lighting for a Prof, on a Avolight Pearl,tiger,titanmode,classicmode
and on the Avolight you have PLAYBACKfaders and they allmost look the same as Submasters.

What sort of sequences do you make?

Intensie Seq. 1step or More.
Color seq. 1step or more.
All seq. Gobo/Irirs/Rot/Focus/Frost/pan/tilt/Mov/Postions/All

and what for?

to get effects that looks nice for a good looking show

How do you set up your controllers and why?

allmost the same as viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2189

so what buttons/faders are you pushing/sliding during a show - and what for?

if you like more detail about some items ask again because its to Much to tell about everything on one Shot.

Thanks for the reply. I recognise these are big, broad questions.
My new thread "getting my head around submaster setup (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5177) is more specific and is based partly on having learned a few things from the BCF2000 setup (as you linked). Feel free to answer there too now!
