Is BCF2000 the best choice? cf Novation Remote Zero SL Mk II

Post by lindsayward »

Hi folks,
I don't know if this forum discourages the "is X better than Y" sort of post, but I'd like some comment on the best choice of external MIDI controller for FS. Looking at bang for buck (value for money) and usefulness, as well as integration with FS.

The main one I've seen here is the Behringer BCF2000 (with motorized faders), but for similar money, there's the
Novation Remote Zero SL MK II

This has "scribble strips", the LCD screens above each fader. Can FreeStyler update these screens (MIDI output) to show what each fader is set to?

Are there any recommendations for controller - either one of these or something else that's not too much more money?
I saw the Elation MidiCon, which is a lighting-specific controller for about double the price:

Thanks!

hi

funny enough i'm talking about this topic with the Devolper.
only i'm going to create my own Custom made Midi controler with MIDIBOX.

but the devolper is planning to get the Elation MidiCon.
the Novation Remote Zero SL MK II doesnt have a nice layout for Lighting. or thats my opinion.
although it look like a nice Midi controller. and the CLCD are not supported on FS as each midi controller use a Diffent Way to print a Tekst on it.

the Bcf2000 is realy the best for me because it have Led on the buttons, it has Motorfaders, Encoders.
and it the most supported controller for FS. and if you use the Submaster and you switch a Tab the motorfader will also update there position.

but in the end it depant how you use FS.

Thanks.
When I ask shops about buying the BCF, they try and suggest "better" products. I was offered the Icon Qcon Pro today, which looks really nice, but if no one's used it with FS before and the text fields on the controller aren't supported, then there's no benefit.
I'll try and get a BCF (they're out of stock around here).

Looks Great indeed !!!!

but it looks realy like a LC controller (Logic).
end in the end it doesnt realy matter if the Controller is never used by anyone on FS.
because every controller that Supports MIDI will work on Freestyler.

Only the Midi protocal knows allot of differnt ways to send DATA.
and freestyler only supports CC# Note's.

And i a agree the BCF is not the Greatest Product. but it works Great!! on FS.
and what does it mean if its out of stock, Everyone likes the Controller. i have the same issue each time i Get a New one i need to wait for at least a month.
