Recently i bought a light of ebay. I have been unable to find a fixture that works with it.

This is it. I am planning on having a party in a few weeks and would really appreciate any advice. I am very new to all this and have little knowledge when it comes to lasers, gobo's etc. Even if you are unable to find a fixture any advic oon how to get this thing working well would be greatly appreciated.

My aim is to be able to sync the light to music.

Thanks in advance.

This is a video i found of it in action:

Hej MickyD

You need the DMX tabel to generate a fixture like this.

And have a look on the FreeStyler WIKI, Fixture Creator.
There are some tutorials that may help you.

Yes thats the one.

If you have the possibility then scan the table and upload it here.

Then I will try to guide you.

But before you start, Lasers may be complex to build a fixture for.

Sorry I thought that it was a Laser so it is not a usable link I gave you above.
Have a look on this page to see the work flow in creating a fixture.
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/f ... eator_help

I have a bit difficulties to figure out how this fixture works but for a start.

Channel 1 placed the shutter channel.
Channel 9 placed on intensity channel.
Channel 8 placed on Strobe channel.
Channel 6 on Zoom Cannel.

In the macro place RGB, Channel Effect, Program, All Program, Sound ctrl on program and Sound ctrl All Program. From channel 1.

Now to the more tricky thing.
Channel 2 it has two gobo functions and there are no values. Here you have to figure out where the gobo shifts from one gobo to the next.
And you need to figure that out for both functions. (This function shift is controlled on channel 1)
This channel 2 control can be placed on Gobo 1.
And then I think channel 7 Gobo effect on Gobo 1 rot.

Channel 3 Gobo Tilt, on Gobo 2 here make some icons in tilt direction.
Channel 4 Gobo Pan, on Gobo 3 here make some icons in pan direction.
Channel 5 Pan / Tilt speed control, on Gobo 2 rot.

And finally.
Channel 10 I don’t have any clue of what it does.

Note I have just entered a random number of gobo.
You have to figure out how many to use.

So are you saying that the numbers in that screenshot are correct and would work or do i have to figure out the parameters. If I do please explain how to go about this.

Yes and no.

The dmx tabel don't have values for the gobo's and there you are the only one that do this part.

You have to do this fixture in steps and each time add more controls and test it each time.

The gobo numbers are not correct.

Start by placing the channel 1, 9, 8 and 6.

Total channel and all the manufacture, fixture name and picture.
You can read this on the wiki.

Then it is time for testing.

Sorry for all my questions but i have been struggling with this for months.
So are you saying that the numbers in red are just random? Or are those correct?
And the numbers in Yellow, are those the ones i need to experiment with? If so why did you chose those numbers to start?

Also, what should i be looking for in order to fill in each parameter.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Hej again.

Think you should try to read one of the tutorial on the page I linked to above.

All the channel numbers are correct, the red and the yellow.

What is not correct is the n" gobos 20, 10 and 10.
They are for you to decide how you want to control the fixture.
As a start you may change all 3 to 1 and the on the related tabe only enter one dmx value 0

Gobo 1 is the one that shift gobos so this you have to figure out at what value it shifts and create a table for that.
This is a part that only you can do because it require that you turn on the fixture and play with the faders.

How do i test it as whenever i try to save it, the program says "Please fill in all Gobo values".

As I wrote above.

Change the n' gobos to 1.

for gobo 1 change the 20 to 1.
for gobo 2 change the 10 to 1.
for gobo 3 change the 10 to 1.

Now you have 1 gobo on each gobo wheel.

Now go to gobo 1 tab and enter a dmx value for the one gobo there. (use the value 0)
Repeat that for gobo 2 tab and gobo 3 tab.

You say nothing at all.

You have created a 10 channel fixture and added it to FreeStyler so it is on your desktop.

With the sliders in right site of Freestyler you should be able to control the fixture.

If not then you have a problem with the connection to the fixture.
This may be the address or if the fixture has to be set in DMX mode.

So i fiddled around with dip switches and finally got it working. The sliders on the right all seem to work. I still can't figure out how to make it react to music nor can i figure out how to create a sequence.

Also, the DMX 400 sliders seem to have no effect on the fixture.

thank you for all your help it feels great just to be able to control the light.

Have a look on your dmx table.
channal 1 fader 200 to 249 or 250 to 255.
And evt. channel 2 are to be set too.

There may be a volume control on the fixtuer where you can set the sensitivity.

Finally have a look on the wiki there a lot of info on how to use FreeStyler.
