Enttec USB DMX PRO Mk 2

Hi guys,
have had the new DMX PRO Mk 2 from Enttec, but for the life of me can't get it to work with this latest Freestyler.
It says it is backward compatible with this software (Enttec DMX PRO normally works with this version).
Just wondering if it is a driver problem that would solve the problem.
I have tried a different config from the older Enttec DMX dongles for the PRO Mk 2, but to no avail!

Forgot to mention that an error message keeps coming up when the DMX PRO dongle is selected!
It says "Error creating output thread".
I have set everything else up correctly, running as admin on win7 & had my old dongle giving correct output, but this new dongle seriously doesn't want to play with the old PRO config!

hi
just wondering, did you also intalled the latest drivers?
and did you re-check the COM/port for Freestyler?
otherwise you can add a Bug report on the FSBT.
Also a quastion gor you , because i have also lookt at the MK2 version and it says it also has a Midi-in and Output but on the images from Enttec i can''t find them...
can you make this clearer for me...?

Hi Spirit, thanks for your reply. I have installed the drivers it asked me to on the disc & then went on to the website after install to update the driver. Don't know if it is this driver that is at fault, but will try to get in touch with Enttec to see what they suggest.
With regards to MIDI on the pro mk 2, the breakout cables will be up online for sale shortly, as well as a hard case for it. The dongle at the moment ships with just DMX input/output breakout cables. 1 input & 2 outputs.
Let me know if you nees any other info on this gorgeous piece of kit!!!

YES!!!
how are the 2 universes shown on the device manager..
as 2 differnt comports or 1 comport..?

On the actual DMX Pro software it can be used as either no1 universe, no2 universe, or the both can be used together. Just a waiting game now for Freestyler to put the device onto their software & i'll be a happy boy!

the enttec pro works with a com port.
this way FS knows with which usb port it should communicate with...
and i wonder if the MK2 has 2 COM ports for each Universe
or just one Com port and Both universes go to one comport...

Yes, tried changing the com ports around to see if that made any difference when trying to get the dongle working, but it didn't want to play

With FS I meant. Enttec own software didn't seem to have com port function or had it somewhere where I couldn't find it!!! :/

i just ordered this. any luck getting it to work? i have show new years and if it doesn't work with freestyle, i'll have to send it back and get the old enttec.

Nothing yet, but still trying! I would stick with the pro mk 2 if I were you, its a better build & more options (when we can get it to work!!). Will do a full reset later & if needed, a delete & reinstall. Let you guys know how i'm getting on.

i noticed on the new Beta that the Enttec pro MKII is added to the list of Interfaces.

still doesn't work with the latest version 3.5.2, the mk2 is available as a choice. but as soon as you click save, an error pops up saying Open Failed.

issue has been resolved. running freestyler in admin mode fixes the problem.
so far the mk2 is working like a breeze with 3.5.2!

did anybody tried to use the MIDI feature of ENTTEC DMX USB PRO MK2 with Freestyler ?
I so, please provide describe your experience.
I did try and I could get it work !
Probably Freestyler has not implemented yet the MIDI side of the hardware or else.
Also according to my experience the ENTTEC DMX USB PRO MK2 doesn't seems to me to have a standard midi implementation as my Midi softwares cannot detect the midi ports of it.
Please let me know.

I also just got the ENTTEC PRO Mk2.. damm with that MIDI .. I hoped to midi control Freestyler with it, so no need for an extra MIDI interface... DO NOT BY THIS DEVICE (for MIDI)

Windows cannot find the midi device and Freestyler can not either.. and this is bad because i send notes to control cues in FS
How can you fix this.. are there an FW fix or some software... or shall i return the unit..

Yes I did make an request in the bug tracker, but I will return the Enttec, I can not wait until FS will support this.. shure they do some time... and I will not pay so much for an DMX interface with the MIDI support not working.. /JK
