"Error Creating Output Thread"

Is anyone else having this same issue? I'm seeing problems happening whenever I'm right in the middle of a show and all of my lights will stop responding. When rebooting Freestyler, I get that error message. Then, the only way to get the lights to start working is to reboot the computer.
At first, I thought that maybe my usb's were shutting off after a certain amount of time, but I have checked that and made sure that shouldn't be the issue. I mean, it is happening right in the middle of a show. The usb's shouldn't be shutting off.
I'm going to try updating the firmware on my ettec pro and see if that helps. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a big Christmas show coming up and it is imparative that I don't have any issues in the middle of the show.
And please move this if I posted in the wrong area. Thanks!!!!

Hey,
I get this when I boot up freestyler and don't connect the interface or it's in the wrong usb port. I have to put mine in the last usb port of my computer (going from left to right). The way to check this is to go into device manger when you've got your interface connected and see what com it says to put it in and make sure it's in that one.
So for example, if it says com4 that means you have to connect your interface in usb port 4. So count from left to right and then put it in the forth port. if you need anymore help and don't understand just reply and i'll show you

hi
just wondering how you use Freestyler.
1)Cue/Cuelist buttons/Submasters/override buttons
2)Midi/Tui2/Enttec wing/TCP-IP
3) other
And for me it allways help to Unplug and plug in the USB and re-start FS. instead of restaring your pc..
and which USB device do you use?

I run everything from submasters and overide buttons. I'm using an Enttec Pro USB.
I have tried resetting the connection to the enttec pro by reseating the usb, but it still doesn't work unless I completely restart the computer.

I've also noticed that it happens very quickly after I create a new scene and add it to a submaster list.

It could be the lights or the dmx box itself I'm currently investigating a dmx device that wouldn't last 30 seconds after a dmx signal was started then it seems to knock out the usb I put in a dmxKing device and it worked for the rest of the day... the previous one was a ShowCad device both run as enttec pro's either the device is faulty or electric or interference is knocking it out from one of the lights

Hmmm, I hadn't thought about interference. I'm at the point where I have to make a decision to either order different software or a different dmx/USB adapter. Our Christmas program is on the 16th and we have a play/skit in the middle of the service and the uniqueness of the play is soley based on the lighting system.
Last Sunday the lights froze up in the middle of a song!!! We had to wait and reboot the system during a break before we got the lights working again. I know for a fact it isn't the USB ports on the computer shutting down because we use a USB mouse and USB wireless network adapter. I've triple checked all the power saving options and the usb's are set to never turn off. It seems like the system will stay up for around 2 hours, but it is random at that. I don't me to throw more suggestions into the pot, but I am running everything off of Windows 7. Do you think that would be an issue? I believe the dmx/USB adapter is compatible with it and it works partially......
Again, totally appreciate all the recommendations so far!!!

The Os shouldnt be an issue 'apparently' I have not heard of the clubs lighting failing since I replaced their usb to dmx.... (But i want my device back lol!)

I'm currently in contact with a representative at Enttec and we are doing some troubleshooting. Im leaning towards something is wrong with the DMX USB pro. Like I've said before, the software doesn't actually freeze. It continues to run like there is no issue. Just that all of the commands that are given aren't being received by the lights. I want to say the adapter is shutting off.
Hopefully after some further troubleshooting we can get this worked out and I can go back to enjoying some freestyler

Have you tried using the DMX USB Utility Tool -
http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_me ... =downloads
I have an Enttec Pro which was doing this. I used the tool to connect with it and have not had many problems since. Still requires the odd connection prompt but mostly stable.

It tested fine with the utility tool, but still continuted to lock up during shows.
A few days ago I loaded the original drivers that came on the cd and it has been running stable so far. I had windows update set to automatic and it kept updating the drivers to newer versions the past year. I disabled that and it is using an older driver now.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully the system continues to be stable.

Same problem here except for the "Error Creating Output Thread" message.
I do get that one sometimes but only when i use Beatharness (VJ program.. great program!!).
Beatharness also uses stero mix for sound input so that clashes sometimes.
But i do have lots of errors with the fixtures.
In our cafe we use 4 American DJ LEDPar56's and 2 BAX ITA01 MKII RGY lasers, Freestyler runs great and can control all the fixtures but after a while there is no more response.
I also use an Entec USB Pro controller and when i exit Freesyler, disconnect the cable and put it back in, start Freestyler again the lights work again for a while.
Sometimes it "crashes" again after a couple of minutes but other times it works great for 1 or 2 hours.
When the lights stop functioning the LED on the Enttec controller isn't blinking either so i think it's either a USB problem or an Enttec problem, not a Freestyler problem.
It also could be a termination problem since we don't use one, we're ordering one soon though.
And it also could be a surge problem, PC and lights aren't grounded, speakers also pop when we use our smoke generator.
