Basic figure eight's and circles?

I know how to move the fixtures to one point, and create the "step". Then, move them to another point, and create the "step", and so on....
But, how do I create a sequence to make a gobo move in a circle, on the dancefloor and be smooth flowing?
(I'd be using Freestyler, and an American DJ Pocket Scan).
Do I make a macro, cue, etc?
Forgive my "newness" at this.
thank you

You need to make a a one scene sequence using theshape generator. Activate the fixure, then open all control windows. Open the sequence window. Start by opening the shutter and selecting the gobo. Then start the shape generator and select or make the shape you want. Then save sequence and check the box to add to cue list.

Is it really this easy?
I can't wait to get home to try this. I don't recall seeing a shape generator in Freestyler. I'll have to search for it.

You need to have the have the sequence window open. The movement shape will be store as a one scene sequence which can be sent to the cue window.

You save the scene, give it a name, and once it's saved you assign it to a cue.

I'm so confused. I'll have to mess around with it tonight.

Yeah sit down and relax, I spent several hours at the beginning getting used to it. I strongly suggest to use 3D easyview for programming, it's much more efficient and quiet than working directly with the lights, saves energy and lamp life

I juste use the real fixtures to check the programs, but if the fixtures are correctly done in 3D easyview, it's really close to the real thing.

Where is the 3D easyviewing? Are you referring to the Sunlight program that interfaces with Freestyler? Or, does freestyler have it's own 3D imaging?

Yes, the sunlight thing. You will need to paste the new MEVP.dll file so it will work properly.

Got it working. Now.... I'll need to understand what the heck I'm doing once it's open.
Pretty cool. I see the little light move in sunlight when I move it in Freestyler.
Wow. If this works right, I won't have to setup my fixtures all over the living room?

Yes, but I strongly suggest to test all the programs with the actual lighting anyway before going live. Because the fixtures in 3D easyview can't match EXACTLY their real life behavior, especially in the strobe, rotating gobos speed, pan/tilt speed etc.. area. Most of the time it's ok but sometimes parameters need some slight adjustments with the real fixtures to get exactly what you want.

Probably why I cannot get it to work! Where do I get the .dll and where do I put it?

Look at the sticky topic at the top of the forum.

I've made great progress with programming n Freestyler over the last couple of days. It just takes patience and a love for DMX/Lighting. (I'm usually short on the patience).

It's worth noting when programming shapes eg circles that on certain screen resolutions, the window for the drag-to-shape tools are off the right edge of the screen, you may need to increase resolution and/or get a bigger monitor.
