More gobos

Hi,
I need to create a fixture with 12 gobos. Does anyone knows how to increase the number of gobos on Fixture Creator?
Regards,
Elton.

I will create a new topic as the request title was not so clear. What I really need is to create a fixture with 12 gobo wheels. Each wheel wil have only 2 gobos.

***** Sorry did not see the other post *****

Hej eltongp.

The wiki are down at the moment so that is why you get an error.

12 gobowheel.
FreeStyler only have 3 gobo wheels.

I will guess that it is possible to make a solution with macros.

Do you have a link to the fixture manual or DMX table.?

Dear Jan_K,
I do have the manual bu it is in portuguese. The fixture is a 4 pixel RGB board from Lumikit.
The idea is not to use it as RGB board, but as a relay controller board. I can achieve that by adding a relay on each LED color output (12 at all). I have the skills to do that. What I need to do is to send 0 or 255 from channels 3 to 14.
I can do that using macros but doing it this way I would never know if a relay is on or off because its going to be no visual indication of that.
I can think in some solutions, but all of them would need a software changes. If I could have 12 gobo wheels, the problem could be solved. Another solution could be the division of the device in 4 different ones, each one having the same address but starting from a different channel number (ie fixture 1 channels 3 to 5, fixture 2 channels 6 to 8 and so on).
If you have any ideas, please share.
Regards,
Elton Pimentel.

Hej Elton.

Something that requires sw changes takes a long time to get and I guess that you need it now and 12 gobo wheels is a verry special case that I don't think will get extreme high proirity.

I think I would do it this way.
Make a dummy fixture that occupy the first two channels.

Then make a 1 channel fixture with on/off.
Or a 4 channel fixture with 2 on/off in the gobo wheels and 2 on/off on the color wheels.

On the wiki, ( It is still down :( ), is a tutorial with combined fixtures that show this.

You then import the dummy fixture and then 12 of the 1 channel fixture and you have all channels covered.

Dummy fixture : ch 1,2
One relay fixture : ch 3
One relay fixture : ch 4
One relay fixture : ch 5
One relay fixture : ch 6
One relay fixture : ch 7
One relay fixture : ch 8
One relay fixture : ch 9
One relay fixture : ch 10
One relay fixture : ch 11
One relay fixture : ch 12
One relay fixture : ch 13
One relay fixture : ch 14

You have to be sure that you add all 12 one relay fixtures + the dummy fixture so all 14 channels are covered.

The one relay fixture is just one fixture covering one channel added 12 times.
Not 12 individual fixtures.

Dear Jan,
I have created the dummy with 2 channels and 12 fixtures with 1 channel (on/off).
I have then tried to find a way to have only one fixture combined, but could not find a way of doing so. As you said before the wiki is off line, so I can not access any manuals to get some help from. Do you have any additional tips?
Thanks a lot for the idea. It really helped.

Elton Pimentel.

Hej again.

I am not sure what you are trying to tell me.

But you will have 12 "One relay fixture" next to each other.
And one dummy fixture.

You can not have them all in one fixture.

You add 1 x dummy and 12 x one chanel relay fixtures
AddFixtures.jpg

And then you location should look like this.
FS_Image.jpg
And thats it.

12 fixtures with an indicator that each control one relay.

Thanks once again for the helpful information.
The only question that remains is about the address. As it is just one board, meaning it has only one staring address, I am not quite sure that configuring the start address from the last one will work fine. I will give it a try and see if it works fine togheter with the other fixtures on my show.
I will post the results.

Elton Pimentel.

First you place the dummy fixture and let FreeStyler give you the address.
Let's say Freestyler say adr. 40
you then place 12 one channel fixtures and Freestyler gives them the next 12 addresses.

The last fixture will now be 40 + 14 = 54.

Your board now need to be set to Adr 40 and if will use 14 channels starting from adr 40.

You are to add all fixtures so all channels are occupied else it will fail.
