How to get 3D to see/use new fixtures?

Hello,
I've created the fixtures I needed (not in freestyler database) for American DJ products and they work as expect in hardware. I would like to use the fixture files for 3D from a tutorial I saw on youtube. All the files are .x or similar in the 3d folders. I can't seem to find or know the right information to search for to use my new fixture files in the 3d software.
Is there a conversion method that I may not have seen in the wiki or just missed?
Can someone point me to a way to do this? Sorry for the noob question.
