Hello!

With an interest in lights I got myself a DMX king microUSB convertor.

My PAR cans have the following channels :

1. 0-255. Master Dimmer.
2. 0-255. Red
3. 0-255. Green
4. 0-255. Blue
5. 0-7 Null
8-255 Strobe
6. 0-11 Null
12-23 Red
24-35 Green
36-47 Blue
48-59 Yellow
60-71 Magenta
72-83 Cyan
84-95 White
96-127 Macro 1 (color change)
128-159 Macro 2 (color change)
160-191 Macro 3 (color change)
192-255 Macro 4 (color change)
7. Speed of Macros (slow to fast)

I am having trouble understanding programming my Macros and ch.6 in general with ch7 in the Fixture creator. And would really appreciate some help.

Tx a ton!

Apologies for the mess above,I cant seem to find an edit post button. this is a 7 ch. fixture, with channel 6 enabling multiple functions.

What I have made so far is attached.

Tx again!

Think I would place the macro on Gobo 1.
You then just have to enter the values for each macro. remember to have the first value 0 as off so you can switch of the macro.

and the macro speed on Gobo 1 rot. Then you have the fader for speed control.

Excellent!

So I dont need to use the Macro editor in the fixture creator, but just use the gobo wheel and insert details in gobo values ?

Also, most of the macros on channel 6 work only when all other channels are enabled, for example,

On channel 6, range 12-23 (RED), 24-35 (Green), 36-47 (blue), 48-59 (yellow), 60-71 (magenta) etc, only illuminate the light if the 1st 4 channels are at full. Otherwise its blackout, and only Macro 1 (auto color, range 96-127) works.

Is there a way to push channels 1-4 to full when the gobo wheel is activated.

Tx again!

no this isnt possible with the Gobowheel.
Only if you use the Macro feature you can do this.
i also attched .pff and two Lines of Marco so you see what i did so you can finsh it.

As Spirit writes.
If the other channels are to be full on then only way is using the macros.
Remember to make an off macro that places ch 6 value to 0.

You can stille place channel 7 on gobo 1 then you have the fader as speed control.
In the marco you can use "Show in" function so the macro icons are shown in the gobo panel.

Wow!

You guys are absolutely fantastic!
Its great to know what a sorted community we have here. I come from the audio world. And I share my gratitude.

Understood Macros, and before i go overboard with them. Seems like infinite automation possibilities!

Please find attached fixture file and share opinions.

Understood fixtures, next logical step would be to understand sequencing I guess ? Kindly guide where to go from here.

Now, without wanting to start another thread. were I to get myself a controller such as the BCF2000/BCR200 (already use em in my studio) for fader or rotary control of DMX channels, and something like the Korg nanopad/nanokeys for triggers, works seamlessly ?

hi your marco selection looks oke.
only why did you add a "0" to channel 5 i would not do this it can mass up things if you create your sequences.

and i do not realy understand you about the Bcf and korg part.

But i use the Bcf2000 and it Works Great!
i'm also creating my own midi controll based on the Midibox project.

Hey Spirit, I added the zero cause if I were to go from the strobe macro to red static, the strobe channel would not reset, so I would have a red strobe (not bad actually). Hope this makes sense ? Will recheck my end.

My question was simply the possibility of using 2 controllers simultaneously. One to program, the BCF, and one to trigger, the Pads.

But that could also be because I am using Macros for colors rather then programing the DMX channels.

Why does this board not have an edit post feature ?

yes i understand what you means with the strobe but it mass up you sequences.

Becasue if you create a Sequence with the macro Red the sequence contance Red 255 green 255 Blue 255 Dimmer 255 strobe 0 Marco 17

so if you like to enable Red and Strobe durring playback this ist possible because the Red sequence says Strobe OFF. these are Differnt atributes.

And yes you can use 2 midi controllers only you need Midi ox and Midi yoke.

So from Midiox1 you Merge input Bcf and Krog ouput is Midiyoke1
FS says Midi input midiYoke 1 and oupput midiyoke2
And MIdiox 2 you split Input midi yoke2 and ouput BCf and Korg

this is also explains on the freestyler wiki

I sometimes have the same problem that something if strobing and that I want to kill it as fast as possibel.

In that case I normally have a sequence that switch "off" the strobing.
It is just one step / scene and can be placed on an override button or a submaster.
