Best approach for a largely UNATTENDED show?

Hi folks...
I'm getting married this Friday (yay!). For the party afterwards I've got a mirrorball, 4 scanners and several DMX-ified RGB lighting bars I'm going to rig up. I could leave them all on their built-in sound to light setting (yawn), or I can hook them all up to a laptop running FS.
I'm the groom, so I won't be able to stay at the laptop - I need to leave it as unattended as possible.
I'd like to be able to set up a few sequences that I can leave running all night:
Slow mood - the main one will be just random smooth movements / colours
Fast mood - fast-moving sequences to go with faster music
Mirrorball - a one-step sequence that'll just have all the scanners focussed on the mirrorball for the slow dances.
So - any tips for making long random sequences?
I know (thanks to the tip of the day) that you can set sequences to shift randomly; I'm guessing I should be able to set up a sequence that just shifts through the colours, and then a separate sequence that moves the mirrors around, and then (hopefully) I can just run both sequences together to get a constantly shifting pattern going.
If I create sets of sequences that need to be run together (as 'Fast mood' and 'slow mood'), is there a way I can set them up on the override buttons, so I can have a single button for 'Fast' and a single button for 'Slow', or am I going to have to go into the Fast Cue window and click on all the fast sequence buttons together each time I want to change the mood?
Any other thoughts or tips?
I really don't know whether I'm being a bit too ambitious. It would just be nice to have all the lights working together, rather than having each one on its built-in random setting.
