Chasing help using DMX400

Decided to play around with the DMX400 chaser, but not getting the desired chase effect. I have 4 RGB fixtures, I channel assigned each one to the DMX400 in sequential order. I opened DMX400 and started a program. Only thing I can do is either flash all fixtures same color, or have them all scroll through colors independently. What I was hoping for was the ability to actually chase them, meaning turn on 1, then 1 off 2 on, then 2 off 3 on and so on. Is this not possible with DMX400 ?? I tried changing programs, but nothing much happens.
Thanks for your help !!!

Yup, that is where I looked, which made me discover this built-in chaser in the first place. The Wiki just tells you to assign your fixture to a chaser channel. So I selected 1,2,3,4, and assumed that somewhere in there, I could chase like that (1,2,3,4), but for some reason, I can only scroll colors while all 4 are on, or scroll colors independently (giving a multi color look), with all 4 on again. I could not just have 1 fixture on at a time chasing across.
But I have since given up on this chaser, and instead, am programming my chases as sequences within a cue, and then assigning that cue to a sub-master, and having all of my chases under a Chase Sub Master, from what I have read (which is very helpful), that seems the better way to go !!!
Thanks

Well I only use the Sub-master.
There is no limitations and with the FX function then chases can be created quit fast.

Jan,
Can you tell me a little more about the FX function you were referring to. RIght now, when creating a chase sequence, I do it manually, then save the cue and shove it into a SM. Takes a long time to go fixture by fixture, turn the last one off, turn the next one on, and so on. If you have an easier way to do it, please let me know.
Thanks for all your help !!!

I use this one on each color in some led parcans.
meaning, making a cue with only red, one with only green and one with only blue chases.
I then uses 3 SM to control them.

Wow, thanks. All this time, I thought that was just a logo slapped in the corner of the sequence window, had no idea what it represented. And to think I did all of my chases by hand, one by one. Oh well, thanks for the tip !!! Looks like an awesome tool, the more I use it, the more I am blown away at what it can do.
