hi everyone

ive got a huge problem

when i'm using freestyler the program becomes verry slow. that slow that it takes 5 seconds to go from 0 to 255 on my dimmer channels. is there any way to speed things up a little?

im using velleman dongle

freestyler runs on a 2gig ram pc windows7 amd quadcore. also bcf-2000 and 2 screens (1 touch)

24x showtec led par
8x dimmerchanels (front and second front light)
12x hqpower space 250 scan
8x eurolite scan ts-7b
2x velleman blinder
2x phantom ehj-250 showtec
8x jbsystems spot knight
1x antari hazer

its verry lame if you want to blind or fade some things and it takes 5 seconds before its fully on

it looks like a its making steps like 20% 45% 60% 75% 100% in stead of 0% to 100% in a flash

please help :fs:

Nice setup!

There are a couple of things you can try:

- Go to Setup > Freestyler Setup > Preferences > Extra Options. Check the last option on this page: Increase process priority.

- Check which running process uses much CPU power:
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Start Task Manager (My Win7 is not English, so this might be called slightly different), go to the Processes-tab and sort the tasks by cpu usage. If there are programs or processes that require a lot of CPU, they cause Freestyler to slow down. Shut down these programs and processes.

Still no fix?
- Ritually burn your Velleman as a medieval witch.
I've used these vellemans for many years, always having lag between pressing a flash button and seeing the effect in my setup.
A couple of months ago I bought an Enttec Pro dongle and all these lags are vanished. I should have bought that dongle years ago.

[edit]
I've bought some led washers and I still have a Vellemann dongle at home for testing purposes. I've experienced exactly the same speed issues as you are mentioning, including the snappy dimming.
When using the washes live - using an Enttec Pro - all these issues were gone.
In other words, even with the fastest pc imaginable, the Velleman is the weak link.
