Hi all
As the the title says I need a bit of help as my understanding of cue etc. I can cannot understand how to achieve want.
I have managed to understand how to do simple cues with a set of 4 par cans. I have mastered fixture creator making my own files inc macros.
Here is my problem and what I would like to achive. I have a laser ADJ hyper gem and 2 smaller spots. I want to use freestlyer live, so i basicly want banks of buttons that I can black out certain fixtures select patterns and use and trigger cues on these buttons ie turn all pars to red.
I hope this makes sense, i just annot seem to get my head round this any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Coley

Hej coley65
Cue is only a play back function.
You need to make a sequence that sets the light like you want them.
You then load the sequence into a cue or if the scequence only contain one scene then you can use override buttons.
Here may be a god place to look

Coley, you may want to read the tutorial about
using Submasters. The concept at first seems to be a bit complicated, but I think it is exactly what you are looking for.
Basically, you first split up your sequences into "logical subdivisions" - i.e. moving patterns and color patterns and then use submasters to combine different movements with different colors.
You could, for example, make the following sequences:
a) Color
1) All Red
2) All Green
3) ...
b) Intensity/Patterns
1) CanCan
2) Slow Fade
3) Fast Strobe
4) ...
and then combine a1/b3 for a "fast red strobe" or a2/b1 for a green CanCan effect.
sorry, I am not able to explain it better :-/ but I hope you got the basic concept.

Thanks for the replies Jan/docMario the link that Jan posted made me understand that is probably a solution
However I started last year on Freestyler but was too impatient to figure this out and moved on to a program called Magic Q, were I was able to program buttons to do what I wanted and it worked well.
I really like Freestyler and up to this point I understand it well and can really see the potienial of doing a fantastic light show to a set pattern.
The macros I have set for the fixtures will enable exactly what I want ie on my hyper gem I can set a macro for pattern , Speed, Strobe and its a one button press. However with the macro situation I would have to first select the fitting and then the macro
Now the sub-masters which I will read and practise when I get home from work, my understanding that it would not be a 1 button solution as you said I would need to select colour, speed, fade etc.
Anyway Thanks again for the replies I am really looking forward to another FS Session tonight
Thanks

I had a play to night and touched on the sub masters one problem I can only control 1 fixture or a 1 group of fixtures at one time.
I tried to run 2 sequences 4 pars grouped and the second sequence was a single laser. I had multi select on
when I tried to run the second sequence the first one stopped. Why can I not run 2 sequences with multi select?
Thanks Coley

Have a look on your sequence.
If you have more sequences controling the same fixtures that are split in more cues then the last activated will be the one running.
Be sure that only the wanted channel are recorded.
Be sure of the mode setting in the sequence editor.
Select only the 4 pars and make some (2 -3) sequences with different patterns.
Open Cue, clear the cue list, add the add the "par" sequences.
Save the cue, (Cue1)
Make some sequences with the laser
Open Cue, clear the cue list, add the add the laser sequences.
Save the cue, (Cue2)
Clear the cue list.
Open sub master.
In the first box insert cue 1.
In the second box insert cue 2.
You should now be able to to select one from cue1 and one from cue 2 and make them running at the same time.
Remember to set the faders next to the boxes to 100%.
Note this is also info that you can find on the wiki.

Still wont run 2 lights at the same time heres what I did
I cleared the cue list so it was empty
I made 3 step sequence with 1 par simple red green blue (snap)
saved my cuelist as led 1
Cleared my cue list
made a 2 step sequence with my laser
saved as las 2
run the led 1 cue
run the las 2
now the steps on led 1 was still going through however the output stopped
las2 was running ok when I stopped las 2 output led1 was restored
Some question regarding your reply
Be sure of the mode setting in the sequence editor. (what does that mean)
Be sure that only the wanted channel are recorded. (do you mean dmx channel ie red channel, blue channel say on a par

on the create sequence window you can see "Transparent Mode" or "Static mode"
and it need to be on "Transperent mode"
Be sure that only the wanted channel are recorded. (do you mean dmx channel ie red channel, blue channel say on a par
this means only the channel you select will be Recorded Fade or snap all the channels that are not recorded will say OFF.
so if you create a Sequence for the ledpars then RGB channels needs to say SNAP or Fade.
and the laser Channels will say OFF
and if you create a sequence for the Laser then the laser Channels will say SNAP or Fade.
and the Ledpar channels will say OFF
