Can I do this?

Hi Gang,
Okay, I'm a total newbie to DMX and Freestyler, so please forgive me if I ask one of those "duh" questions.
We are working on uplighting to offer our clients. We are starting small, and then working our way up. We have purchased 16 of the Eliminator Electro86 par cans. I have successfully created a fixture profile for them and have them working perfectly with FS. So that part I'm fine on.
I have the lights on 2 separate channels, so that we can alternate them in the room when we set them up. This way if the client wants the room all one color, we can do that, or if they 2 colors, we can do alternating lights around the room (red, blue, red, blue, etc.). I have this part of the project working perfectly too. So far, so good.
Now, here is where I have a question and have no idea where to start. In addition to using the lights as uplighting, we also want to use them as signals to indicate that some kind of event is going to take place. The lights have a strobe function, but that is NOT what I'm looking for, I'm more interested in using their intesity function.
For these fixtures, intensity is handled on channel 4 with a range of 0 (0%) to 189 (100%). What I would like for the lights to do is, on command, for the lights to sequence from 0 to 189 over a period of 3-4 seconds, then repeat and continue repeating until I tell it to stop. So from the guest perspective, the lights would go out, and then get gradually brighter and brighter until they reach 100%, and then go out again. Hope that makes sense.
So is this possible in FreeStyler, and if so can someone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks!!!!!
Bryan
