Limiting DMX channel output

Hi,
I am new to FreeStyler and have been playing with it for a few days now (with a homebuilt Vellman interface). Seems pretty good so far, and have started to make some fixture files as well!

I have noted the Vellman issues with latency on the forum, and noticed these when trying to control a pair of Acme Dynamo scanners. At first the pan and tilt motion was a little juddery.

Reduced the refresh down to 20ms in Freestyler setup and certainly much smoother scanning.

There was some discussion back in 2008 and onwards of Freestyler having a feature to reduce the amount of DMX output channels it sends (I don't need 512 for a small disco setup) - but - I can't seem to find this feature in the latest version??

Is anybody able to help me (has it been implemented and how can I change it??)

With kind regards,

Jon

you can find it on the same place as where you changed the Refresh Rate.
so between the Interface setup.
You can select 96Channels, 256Cannels or 512channels.

Thanks!

There seems to be a little bug in the software as it was not visible until I deselected Vellman and deselected it again. The buttons then appear.

If I exit Freestyler and go back into setup again the buttons are gone again. Have to deselect and reselect Vellman again to get them to reappear and then no buttons are set, and it says 50ms and not the 20 set.

Seems to work fine though.

Thanks again.

Jon
