Hello, Dakar ZA
Nice to hear you like to Learn everything, to get you started.
The freestyler wiki explains ALOT.
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/
Can also be Found on the Top of this page as "The Freestyler Wiki"
Here some other links
The Basics About DMX512:
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/d ... dmx_basics
To get you started with Freestyler:
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/help_im_new
and everything about fixture Creator.
And the point about a Fixture is that its just a Image your looking at , And to make it eayer to Navigate Functions within Freestyler. So you have some Visual to look at
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/fixture_creator
Yes your document tells it all
on the Page3 and page 5 you see a Table with all kinds of Channel, Dmx values, function.
This table says the Features your Fixture have.
But first you need to think if you like to have the 12Channel mode (Page3) or 6Channel mode (Page5)

Thanx for the links, I will go through it and give it a bash! Is the 2 modes(12 or 6 ch) a setting you have to select on the front panel of the fixture?
Thanx Herman

Yes you need to Set the Mode on the Digital Screen from the Fixture.
If you upload your first try i can look at it and Guide you.
To upload a Fixture file on the forum you need to Export the Fixture file as a .PFF
And if you also say which Mode your going to use, so i can Help you.

Yes your right both Documents are differnt...
But which Document did you get with your fixture.
oke the booklet so this one should be the Good one otherwise the Factory did not gave the Correct info.
So far if i look at the Catalogue and your fixture, you did a Very good job.
Only i'm missing the Min and Max Intensitie Value.
and i miss the Strobe off, low, med, and high value.
And some Channel descriptions For Channel 5 and 6

Hi Spirit,
Thanx for the reply. I manage to get the correct manual eventually.(attached) I confirmed via the front panel that this is a 12/8 ch model and not a 12/6 ch as per the previous manual. I will try to create a new fixture and upload for your comments. Which is the best mode to use 12 or 8 channel?
Thanx for the assistance

Hello if you would like to use auto programs i would create the 12ch mode
But if your going to create your own sequences and your not going to use the auto programs then the 8ch would be enough.

Oke Most off all is correct Only.
I miss the Strobo Values.
thats Should be OFF = 0, Low = 8 Med =127 and Fast = 215
Oke i also see that the Strobo is also The shutter So shutter = 6 open = 5 and Closed = 0
I also see something wrong about the Gobo wheel and Color wheel.
You made :
Color one = Value 1
Color two = Value 2
And on......
But if you look at the PDF you see that color one(White) is between 0 and 4 , color two (Yellow) is between 5 and 9.
So it should be:
Color one = Value 2
Color two = Value 7
And on...
same thing goes about the Gobo wheel.

Thanx Spirit,
I will edit and repost for you comments. If I understand correctly, The value you enter is the middel value of the given range? Is this right?
Appreciate the help.

i dont mind, its better you learn how to do it so the next fixture will go faster and faster.
But about the Error, the only thing i can come up with.
is if you NOT fill in all the Values on the Gobo/Color tab.
he will give a Error massege because EVERYTHING needs to be fillt in Before you can Save the Fixture.
only the tab "Fixture cinfig" and "macro" and "RGB Segements" doent need to be totaly filt in.

Oke Yeah!!!!
Where allmost on the same level now
this looks Great!
still as i sad Before
Strobe/Shutter channel = 6 That ok.
Only with in Fixture creator you dont have filt in the Low, Med and High value for the Strobe.
and if you look at the PDF you see that Strobe Slow to High is Between 8 and 215.
so i would recommend to use Value 9 For LOW, Value 107 for MED and Value 214 for High.

i also Sad that i would Explain the Values a little better.
The big thing about everything that you need to Read everything realy carefully.
and some time you Can only see it if you realy got the fixture in front of you becasue the Document dosnt say any thing about that.
Because With Color you can have.
1)Stepped/Static
2)Scroll/Incromental
3)Rainbow
"1" Means that Color Yellow Value 5 - 9 Means thats If the value is Between 5 - 9 you have a FULL color. so the Middle Value is the Safest one.
"2" Means that Color Yellow Value 5 - 9 Means that If your at Value 5 you have a Half gobo From White and Yellow, If the Value is 7 than you have a full color Yellow, if the value is 9 you have a Half color with Yellow and pink.
With the Gobo you have:
1)Stepped , The same as Color
2)Scroll, The same as Color
3)Shake
4)Rainbow
Only Shake means that Between Value 64 and 71 you have a Shake Feature that goes from Slow to fast.
64 is slow and 71 is Fast, And everything in between.
This also Bepant on the Fixture if it also Support a Incromental Shake instead of just One Speed.
Same Count for the Rainbow effect.
between 128 and 191 you have Incromental the Speed for the Rainbow effect.
Hope this makes it clear.
