Problem with Freestyler and Remote

I created an ad-hoc network on my Windows 7 laptop called Freestyler with no security encryption. I can have my iPad connect to the Freestyler network and I can get an IP on my laptop but when I try to connect remote to it, it just keeps saying connecting and then error occurred. Both IPs on the laptop and Remote match. So it should be working but it's not. Why is this? It was working yesterday but I can't seem to get it working today. Any ideas?

IP for the laptop and the one for the iPad should not be exactly the same.

One IP, say for the Laptop will be 172.16.1.1 then, for the ipad it should be 172.16.1.2 (Basic Networking)
Now on the iPad your connect address should be 172.16.1.1

If this isn't working, check the following:
Check that your Personal Firewall isn't blocking Freestyler. (Easiest way to makesure that the firewall isn't blocking it is to turn off the firewall just for testing, then turn it back on again once you have tested it.)
If the firewall is blocking it you will need to create has an exception for Freestyler.

Hope this will help. :)
