Chauvet Scorpion GBC

I'm new to the forum, and new to Freestyler. Starting out I had to modify some fixtures which gave me a modest understanding of how the process works. I'm having some trouble with the scorpion GBC lazer though. The fixture I've uploaded works somewhat, but I know it could be tweaked by someone who has more experience creating fixtures.
The problem I ran in to while creating this fixture is that it really didn't fit in to the parameters of other devices. I wish there were a fixture creator template for lasers. I say this since I ran in to an issue having a channel for x,y, and z rotation. Also, since the gobo's and the color changes are dependant on channel 1 being within a certain range I couldn't find a way to deal with that. (if channel 1 is set between 0-17 it is in manual mode. Past that it goes into various automatic modes) Also, I wasn't sure how to add the channel for "color change speed", or "zoom".
While it would be cool to already have a fixture loaded, I am trying to make the best fixture I can. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Clint

Hello, ccgoff
There is no Offical way to make a Laser fixture with the fixture creator.
you can look at this page for other laser fixtures made by users, just to give a idea.
viewforum.php?f=74
But i have been looking at the pdf and i would make like this:
Channel1: on the Macro's With "Show in" to the Lamp panel
Channel2: Set it to the gobo channel1
Channel3: Gobo channel2
channel4: Gobo Rotate2
Channel5: Zoom channel
channel6/7/8/9/10: just make a channel description and slide the faders on the right side from freestyler.
there is now way you can controll the Pan/tilt from a laser, with a nice panel made within freestyler.
or you can add the Pan/tilt like i did :
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=2952
but in the end making a Laser profile is Realy hard.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my fixture Spirit. I haven't even looked at the macros yet. I just began using this software last week so I have a lot to learn. I will try playing with the macro settings in some different fixtures and figure out how they work. I appreciate the advice you have given me.

Just started looking at the macros. Macros are extremely complicated. I will look at some of the other laser fixtures, but I'm not sure I will every get up to speed with the macros. I'm planning on using freestyler this year for 2 parties at our home and at least the laser will work somewhat with the settings I have. The thing that sucks though is that I have evry other fixture working perfectly and just the scorpion GBC working half assed. I'll play with the settings over the next few days though. Many thanks to the people on this forum.
Re: Chauvet Scorpion GBC BLACKOUT FUNCTION

i made a few generic macros just to make it easier to perform a couple of funtions. The main question I have now involves the Blaclout settings for the laser. When I activate the blackout mode the laser does not respond. I know there has to be a setting somewhere, but haven't been able to find it. I need help with this feature.
Thank you, Clint

If you like to know more about freestyler and Fixture creator,
Go to the Freestyler wiki and you can learn alot of new things.
For the freestyler wiki go to here
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/
and the Fixture creator go to
http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/fixture_creator
only freestyler isnt made for lasers and making a Fixture file can be a Hard task.
and the Blackout value = Chutter off
so you need to fil in the Laser off value and channel to chutter off.

I have looked at the fixture editor, but I don't see any reference for a blackout setting. I set a macro up with a button for blackout (all values at zero) but I would like it to react when I turn the blackout on.
Also, I have a problem with the cue for running chases. When I set up a list of chases if a put a chase into the 1st box in the list it will not work properly. Say it has 15 scenes, it will go to scene 1 then 2 then 1 and continue doing that. As long as I leave the 1st box blank and start with the 2nd all of my chases work as they should. Sometimes the sound 2 light gets quirky and I have to restart freestyler, but I can live with it.

Hi, all,
I know it´s a bit late.... I ran into a Scorpion GBC yesterday on a sale. I created a fixturefile which seems to work 100%. I only missed on the size of the buttons (I've created a few text-only buttons, which are a little too big...) I'll try to correct them ASAP and post the fixturefile once it is done.
FYI: Blackout works. You need to send a value between 000 and 024 to channel 3.

Hi , now this is late..lol
I am trying to create fixture file for Scorpion RVM . I have the manual GVC/RVM/RGY and have gotten as far as I can with very limited knowledge and experience with Freestyler and creating fixtures. I would love your finished fixturefile, though as it seems it will be the same as my RVM. email to
moosiclover2@hotmail.com
thanks for your help!

FF mailed.
I'm very slowly progressing on editing the file. Just found out there are only 24 hours in a day.... :s
