Lost the fader "Off/Fade/Snap" ???

Suddenly I don't see the status of a fader in the Fader window (Off/Fade/Snap). It is just blank. ANY idea on how to fix?
I have re-installed 3.4.4 but no difference.
I also have 3.3.2. installed at a different location with the same behaviour.
