Hi,

I installed the latest version of freestyle (3.4.4), but when I run, the load window opens and nothing happens. The progress bar does not change.


However FreeStyler512.exe process consumes 50% of my CPU (so one core).



No error in system logs.

I installed FreeStyler 3.4.4 in "C:\FreeStyler344" folder to preserve the 3.3.2 installation that work well.
I'm using Windows XP SP3 32bits, Intel core2 duo, 1Go RAM

Any idea ?

mine is doing the same thing, windows 7 professional. Intel Centrino Duo, 2GB Ram

Glad that I still have 3.4.0.

Restoring the 3.4.0 it works again.

The issue have been reported and is awaiting Raph to investigate

I got mine to work, I uninstalled the software, then reinsatalled and it works fine. The uninstall must have removed something stuck somewhere.

I also tried to uninstall mine but without luck.

Well Mattotone, the 3.4.0 works 3.4.4 don't and I don't the betas in between

i works perfect.

but i have al the betas between 3.4.0 and 3.4.4

Just to say I am not in panik because I have a version that works.

But I get the same image as in the first post and it is still there after 15 min.

Looking forward to see what it added to the new version.

Sprit @ can see that you all ready have modified external control on the wiki

What did i Modfied? i add more stuf to the External control page.

jeps. So I know that more commands are comming in the 3.4.4 version.

I'm getting the same thing here - installed 3.4.4 and immediately on startup one thread hits a race condition and jumps to 100% usage on one core (25% on this machine). Reinstalling / deleting folder hasn't helped.

Also on an unrelated note I've been having massive trouble with permissions and fixtures going missing which is all down to freestylers insistance on storing user created content in the program folder (when they should be elsewhere) which is a serious no-no in software development circles.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the first time didnt work for me, but then I uninstalled, rebooted my computer, then installed FS this solved the problem for me.
I am running windows 7 on a touch screen laptop, I do however get a warning that FS may have a clash with a 'tablet input service' I have installed (think its the touch screen) This has not caused any problems so far, fingers crossed it won’t

Please send me an email so I can send you a new exe with a reg key to see if this corrects this issue.

make install in windows vista, copy the folder locate in drive c: and paste in c: on windows7 after this the FreeStyler start.

i had the same issue. reinstalling (with a reboot) worked for me. i tried it again without a reboot and the issue occurs.

so you probably need to uninstall the previous version of freestyler, install the new version and then reboot.

I loaded 3.4.4 last night and it did not work. The splash screen froze and the CPU went to 99% on FreeStyle512 in task manager.

I uninstalled the program again, removed the FreeStyle directory and rebooted. After installing again it is now working.

I don't know if there is a conflicting DLL or what, but does look like an issue with leftovers when installing over a previous version or maybe the reboot corrected it.

I also have strange things with 3.4.4
If i start freestyler without dmx dongle, it starts directly.
If i put dmx dongle in usb and then start freestyler it freezes at the startupscreen and stopped working.

The dongle is an dmx4all.
