Freestyler 3.3.2 LED PAR brightness issue

Hello and welcome me to the forum
I would like to explain a problem, I am currently encountering using Freestyler 3.3.2 on a Lenovo X61 Windows XP SP3 Notebook (4GB RAM, Intel T7300 2GHz CPU):
I am trying to drive 4 LED PAR's (it's independent if 1 or all are connected), named 'Showlite D-336'.
CH1-----0-255 Master Dimmer
CH2-----0-255 Red Dimmer
CH3-----0-255 Green Dimmer
CH4-----0-255 Blue Dimmer
CH5-----0-255 Flash
CH6----0-255 Various Auto-Modes
CH7----0-255 Speed Auto-Modes
I made an own fixture, but standard fixtures show the problem anyway:
I set Master dimmer to 255 and as I raise values for a color, the brightness stops at a value of about 150. The spot ist getting darker then!
I tried 2 different interfaces (USB2DMX as well as the ENTTEC Pro), and they show the same issue. The spots work correctly with DMXCONTROL on the same machine as well as with an external DMX controller.
I tried deinstalling of Freestyler and even cleaned the registry. I also played around with serial settings and timing. But nothing helps.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

hello, manniman
The spot ist getting darker then!
i think you don't have your CH7:Speed raised up, i think the fixture is on Speed"0".
i also recommend to have the speed on 100%Full on so you can control the speed with freestyler (Tap/Tap sync).
I set Master dimmer to 255 and as I raise values for a color, the brightness stops at a value of about 150
i don't understand this one.
can you upload the DMX charts and the fixture you made.
and which fixture did you use from freestyler?

Hi Spirit,
I uploaded the fixture file (may an admin bring it into the correct subfolder

) d336.zip.
- The message is: Ich cannot get full brightness, get only about 50%, and this only with Freestyler
- Automodes have full brightness
- I have good DMX cable and resistor at the end of the chain
- CH7 has no effect, when not in Auto Mode (tried it)
- As a test, I tried 'American DJ LED Par-1'
- Freestyler 3.4.0 has the same problem

Hey, i found some miner Fault in your fixture file.
so take a look and try it
D336.pff
but those miner fault doesn't occure those problems you have
so you say if you have the Dimmer on 255.
and you drag a color to 255 it stops at 150.
and if you drag the color back to 0 it isn't getting darker anymore?
you also tried to just drag the dimmer back to 0?
can you also try it with the Dmx output window open.
so open freestyler on the top you see "Ouput" press on it and than press on "Show output"
can you drag all the faders and see if all the channels can reach 255?

This fixture file shows the same issue.
All values in the output can reach a value of 255.
It's like this: Master is 255, I drag a color and as it reaches a value of about 150-160, it begins to flicker and gets darker. If I drag back, it gets darker, just as normal.

Hi there! Just some short answers:
- Yes, the patch is correct.
- I don't have 3.2.0 anymore. 3.3.2 is the latest stable version that I can download here.
- Tried following: Reclaimed COM Ports, that got values over 20 now. Reinstalled 3.3.2 after I mentioned, 3.4 is not well separated with concurrent version, cleaned registry.
- Still no success - giving it up...
- Yes, it works with the same fixture and with 3.3.2 on my home PC with Windows 7. But can't carry it with me
I think, it must have something to do with the COM Ports. But I cannot see anything wrong. I'll get new notebook next time and will try it there. But I'd like to keep XP.
Thanks for your help anyway. If anybody has further ideas...

Hi there,
I bought new notebook and found out, what influences this problem:
- It ist NOT the hardware
- It is NOT the operating system level
It is... the language setting for non unicode programs!
It's found in the regional settings / advanced.
I have US English format, in general.
For non Unicode programs, I have to select 'Thai', because I work with a thai karaoke program. I never met any problems with any other program. But Freestyler does not seem to like 'Thai'. As I reset to US English, the fixtures work correctly on both computers!
Think, I'll report this as a bug.
If there are any ideas to circumvent it, please let me know, and thanks for your help. New Freestyler Beta encounters the problem as well.
