Easy View freezing up ?

Hi - can any tell why Easy View is locking up when I go to add objects to my stage - I can create stage size / texture/ add fixtures ok - but as soon as I go to add objects (ie truss/ drumkit etc) it locks up ( "program not responding "? - I am use an FC adapter. - many thanks
