i have a few questions/ ideas for freestyler.



1. can there be a option in freestyler to create your own chases in the dmx 400 mode

2. can there be the option to open more dmx 400 boxes at the same time that can run on differend dmx adresses. or a bigger box with assingeble faders for confectional licht use. (live fading).

1. yes there called cues lol. I remember this question coming up in the old forum, he said if you make a little sketch and email him it he may add your program into the dmx400. as follows/

2. i don't think the dmx400 is multi instance and would probably require a large over haul to make it so, the faders are already assignable maybe an increase to sixteen channels would be nice especially with some midi controle.

P.S there is already a midi 2 dmx option so if you want conventional lighting desk you have two options, buy a cheap simple dmx desk with a dmx merger or buy a midi device try the bcf2000 and configure midi faders to dmx channels.

but i think you miss understood me here.

what i ment was an option to make your own chases in the dmx 400 box. plus he option to open more dmx 400 boxes at the same time at differend adresses for example when you are using more than 8 par 64 spots, i'm using 74 pars in the standard show each on a seperate dmx adresses and using 36 pars as rearlight. see pic.

It's not really on the topic, but how can you controll PAR Cans with DMX 400 in the latest version of FS. The latest version can only Controll RGB lights by DMX400, or am I wrong?

it only accepts single channel dimmers.
So you have to make each parcan as a single channel and then add it to the dmx400

yes i know but i only use single channel dimmers but the problem is that i have 72 pars on 72 single dimmers. but i only can use 8 dimmer channels at the same time. adressing mij dimmers is not a option because i have to use every single dimmer/par seperatly.

it can be that i'm having a older version but i've dowloaded the same version just last week on a few other pc's of the fs site and there i have the old trusted dmx-400 as we knew it.

but if there is a new version availible with that function in place of the old i wil continue using the older version.

I tried it with four single dimmers/PAR Cans and simulated it with Magic 3D. Channel 2,3 and 4 are workin fine but what's about channel one? I set it like the other channels but get no light output with the DMX 400. If I dimm it manually by the Fader at the right side it works to. HELP!

I solved the problem but don't know what it was.
Now there is the next. I try to soolve it now since two hours and don't know whats the problem. I use single Cans in DMX 400 under Windows Vista on two Accounts. On my Account it is no problem to use 8 single PARs but if I try to use the same show on the Guest Account I can't use channel/PAR 5,6,7 and eight. If I try to set the channels again at channel 5,6,7 and eight I get a message box that the fixture is not an RGB fixture. How can I solve the problem? For me it's very mysterious that the problem is only at the last four channels.

I'm having the same problem. If I understand DMX400 correctly... it will let me control 4 (or) more of my par cans with my DMX dimmer pack. I set the Channel of the dimmer pack to 1. It will then control my 4 lights on that side of the stage.
However, I have TWO (2) of these DMX dimmer packs and I want to control the right side of the stage with 4 more par cans. The only way I can seem to do it is to manually with my mouse, scroll the starting DMX channel up to the value 5. Then the DMX400 window controls those. (Remember the first dimmer is on DMX channel 1 and the second dmx dimmer is on channel 5.)

Question: Can I not do both sides at the SAME TIME? How can that be done?

I use Sonar 4 and 5 in our Band and I want to control our light show from one track in Cakewalk Sonar.... totally automated... that is my current goal.

I have assigned all lights and dimmers and am now ready to start scences, sequences and cues.

All help is very welcome... I am quite a "techie" so... lay it on me!! LOL
