Hi guys

Sorry not been on for while been busy with other stuff

Just wondering is it possible to add compatibility for xbox 360 controller to be used with freestyler ive used a joystick but did not like how it functioned

Benefits of uses Xbox controller over joystick

1.) you can have wired and wireless controllers and wireless controller giving you the freedom to stand anywhere up to 30ft away
2.) lots more buttons on xbox controller giving more option for configurations
3.) controllers drivers are open source so programming it should not be a problem

Button uses as button pressed it will change to next available

Right Trigger /Left Trigger Fixture Select

A = shutter
X = Strobe
Y = Gobo;B
= Colour

Stick 1 will control X and Y axis

Dpadd Left/Right select a cued sequencDpad
ad Up/Down would start and stop sequence

Vibration feedback triggered when there's a system error so controller would vibrate then you could design a diagnostic system of pulses that vibrate the controller that you can reference to an error list weather it be a lose wire or fixture not being DMX correctly

To Use a Standard UXboxbox Pad with your PC all You need Is Driver [url=http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gamin ... px?pid=091]Available Herurlurl]

To Use Wireless Controller your neXboxbox to PC wireless USB receiver and a wireleXboxbox Controller

USB CHARGING CABLE WILL NOT WORK

With wireless set-up you can have up to 4 pads connected so you could have split pad configuration so you could have a pad per group of lights eg:

Pad 1Pacansans x4
Pad 2 = Moving heads x2
Pad 3 = AcScimtersers x4
Pad 4 = Lasers/Others

You may want to look for a software that makes your Xbox 360 controller show up as a Joystick. This would allow you to use the FreeStyler built in Joystick Support!

Hi thanks Matt

I tried what you suggested but had problem with the microsoft common controller

I'm running Windows 7 32bit

And for some reason the above download will not work with Win7 Ive found loads on Goggle with other having gaming issues it with it

Is it not possible to make an add-on for this that will enable the thumb sticks to controller X-Y axis to have full compatibility

Ive found few problem with freestyler ive tried keyboard set-up there's just no option for controlling these functions to open and close shutter

The only thing ive manage to configure is select fixture with triggers change the fixture colour and gobo with a button press. The D pad fails to recognise any inputs in freestyler along with the X-Y of the thumb sticks

Be great to have this integrated with full support

Cracked It

Your Need few things

1x Gamepad (I'm using xbox wireless pad)
1x Copy of Xpadder Download Here

And a copy of Freestyler

Setup Xpadder with your gamepad/Joystick with keyboard Btn's (inculding the X and Y axis may need turbo enabled)

Then set the same buttons for Freestyler keyboard shortcuts for the options you want your Gamepad to control

EG. in xpadder i use for the X/Y axis tumbstick W,D,S,A with turbo enabled [Then in Freestyler set them as Pan Left, Pan Right, Pan Up, Pan Down ]

Freestyler has some limitations the keyboard shortcut controls still dont cover all of the functions of a fixture once there have been more shortcuts added you will be able to configure the gamepad to have complete control of you whole set-up

Thanks look forward to updating this once we have the new shortcuts

Hi,
I started on Freestyler and I have a small question:
I have 2 scans (Aquila) and I want to know if it will be possible to independently control the left and right with the controller sticks?
ex:
Left Stick: Pan / Tilt Scan 1
Right Stick: Pan / Tilt Scan 2

Sorry if the translation is not great (thank you Google)

Interesting, I might have to try this and see if I can get it to work with my setups :)
