FCB1010 Midi Crash

Hi all, I've only managed to program one button on the FCB1010 - any other button I program causes Freestyler to Crash when I press it and the pedal to start flickering... I then have to restart Freestyler to gain control again...
I'm not sure where to go from here. I've tried different buttons but all seems to crash the program. Am I missing something...?
The button I've programmed is a flash scene I created on an override button and a strobe on scene, also on an override button...
