Hi Everyone

Simple question from a simpleton which may have been addressed before.
When updating FreeStyler which system files from my previous version do I need to ensure I don't have to rebuild my show. I know to backup my chases and cue's but are there any other files I need?

Freestyler has a backup/restore fetaure in its file menu.
This copies everything you need, and packs it into one file.

If your version is before this you need to make a backup up of your chases folder, and your cue folder. also export your midi settings.
and a copy of chasers.set groups.set and data.set you may also want to copy your freestyler.ini

Many thanks.

I want to use the backup function.
If I push the backup/restore button a window pops up. There are two buttons. One is backup and the other is restore. If I want to restore my chases, buttons, ... I have to choose restore I think. But if I push the restore button a window pops up which is called "Load backup". So I only can load backups but not store. How can I store my show to get it on another computer?

The LOAD BACKUP is exactly as it says its where you pick the backup file that you wish to restore if your transferring to another computer you need to transfer the backup file to a location (i.e. i would pop it on the desktop) then in that load back up you would find the file on the desktop then that will restore all your settings! ;)

That's how I load my settings. But how do I store my settings/show on the old computer?

You use the backup button to create 1 file with all the settings etc contained within from the pc you want to copy the settings from then find were you saved that backup file and transfer it to CD/Floppy/USB Disk then put it somewhere you will remember on the computer you want to have the settings on then go into freestyler on that pc and do a restore by pointing freestyler at the file you copied to that pc.....
