Hello, I'm brand new to the forum here, hopefully it will treat me right
I'm new to controlling my fixtures via freestyler as well, its very new to me. I have an Idea of what i want to do, i just wanted to know if anyone could give me a quick yes or no answer to my idea.

Here is what I want to accomplish:
I want to set different keys on my keyboard as bumps for different chases and different colors in LED fixtures. So essentially I want to be able to run the whole show by just holding different keys on the keyboard, and hopefully be able to bring up other cues or other chases or submasters on the computer screen with the mouse.
So please, Is this possible to accomplish with freestyler?

Other notes:
I'm using an Enttec Open USB interface

Thanks ya'll!

Yes

Although the "holding keys" part would be limited due to hardware limitations of the keyboards and their interfaces (So this is no FreeStyler limitation). Most of the time just several keys can be pressed simultaneously, more keys would be missed then. If you desperately need to keep pressing keys down all at the same time, then don't use a keyboard, use a midi controller instead.
(you can easily test which keys can be pressed at the same time using notepad. In sequence order press and hold several keys, like the bottom row of your keyboard, zxcvbnm. You'll see the characters appear in notepad but not all. On my current hardware it ends with the v if i press zxcvbnm simultaneously. So I can press zxcv simultaneously. I can press the other keys down (bnm) but the keyboard misses those)

Next to that:
-Press and hold can be used with override buttons in 'flash' mode. (keeping the above in mind that some keys cannot be pressed down at the same time)
-The cue window only runs in switch mode. Press and release a key, switches on a cue/sequence, another press and release switches the cue/sequence off.

For the rest its just trying out and finding out how it works and how you fill it all in. There are several ways to get there.

Okay, sounds like i'm in pretty good shape then :D

Now, another question-Can i mix sequence buttons? meaning, can i have buttons to tap once to do a quick strobe sequence between a few different strobes AND can I have others that I tap once and they will turn on a chase and I can hit it again to turn it off?

FreeStyler can do thousands of things and can't do even more. Are you going to ask all that?

Its about time for you to read the help files, search around the net and above all: try it all out. You can do that all for free, without having a hardware interface at all (try out the 3d easy view part - its a virtual interface, creating a virtual gig for you).

I (we all) understand you have questions. Your'e a beginner, we all were once. But sorting those things out for yourself before asking is one thing you need to do now. If you can't sort things out, we'll be happy to help you out on a per problem base.
